Continuing "saga" of the Jersey Design

OK Kiddies"......John and I have been "tossing" the concept for the front of the jersey back and forth and at this juncture this is where we are headed. Everyone seems to like the "Cyclone" graphic so we are looking at using it on the front.

Image hosting by Photobucket I am still trying to "recruit" additional specialized crew and while going to PT these past weeks I have met a Physical Therapist that may be interested in going. His name is Kevin. Let's keep our fingers crossed as I think he would be great!!

Continuing jersey design "saga!

Well, John has been working very hard with the revised designs and we ARE looking forward to the finished "product"!!!

I have been receiving a lot of interest in the purchase of this design and I think we need to modify the design of those a bit so they aren't 100% the same as the ones the riders will wear.....but very close. I'm also extremely interested in taking John's logo design and having patches made to sell as part of our fundraising efforts.

The crew is growing and I belive we have 8 or 9 but we are still looking for those with some special skills, namely message therapist, EMT or nurse, (a doc) would be great) and a good bike mechanic. Our goal is 12 so we need to get to work!

There are several events coming in February and I'm hoping that we all get as much training in as we can. I'm hoping that we can organize the UMCA Cross California Challenge for May and I'm even giving some thought to a "solo" attempt of same. I will be rifing in the Davis 24 Hr. Challenge this year in April and am looking to break the record of 301 for my age bracket. My friend Johnathan Quist has already volunteered to help with SAG as I intend to stay on the bike as much as possible this year. LOL.

Ongoing "saga" of the jersey design

Here is a map of the first part of the race....others to follow!

Well..it was raining yesterday so I had some time to "kill" and worked on some ideas for the RAAM jersey. Looks like Voler wants us to use on of their jersey templates so I came up with this. Of course it doesn't yet have the "final touches" from John, our graphic artist, which we are looking forward to. On another subject the Team want to welcome Maggie Heineman from Lumberton, NJ., and Lisa Quintella from Carpenteria, CA.,to the crew for RAAM. Below is a brief bio written by Maggie:

Margaret A Heineman

My husband Herb and I moved from Philadelphia to a continuing care community in Southern New Jersey in 2001. We have 3 children, and 3 grandchildren. In 2004 I became the coordinator of the Class D rides for the Outdoor Club of South Jersey, and am very proud of having built the schedule of Class D rides from 2/month to 3/weekend. The rest of my volunteer work is within our community: I work with nursing home residents (mostly Alzheimers) in the pool one morning a week and I assist in the fitness center one afternoon a week. Compared to many women my age I'm a techie: I built a website for the residents association http://mlra.org/ (the wildflowers section is really good)
and I do the layout and production for both the monthly newsletter and the semi-annual literary journal.

We'll have Lisa write a bio for us and post it here soon.

We want to also welcom Mary McNeely who will be the Team Bike Journal Media correspondent and will help post daily information on the teams progress as we as help keep this "blog" up-to-date.

I want to express my thanks(and the thanks of the remainder of the riders) to these "brave souls" who are willing to sacrifice their time so that our "campaign" will be successful! It is certain to be a rewarding experience for all of us and let's have some fun!

The RAAM site has been updated so use the link on this blog to check it out for more information.

Team Logo

Well it's the day after!

Here's a pic of by Bud (and Cyclonaut teamate)
Larry riding back East. That jersey "almost" looks like the new Furnace Creek 508 jersey we just received.

Christmas is over and in a lot of ways I'm glad. The traffice and the crowds are so maddening! I'm happy that I did the bulk of my shopping "on line" but did "venture" into a store or 2. Now it's time for a "leetle" R & R before heading back to work and training in the next year. Hope to see all off you on the road soon.

ciao e Felice anno nuovo( Happy New Year)!!
